Analisis Semiotika Ferdinand De Saussure Pada Lirik Lagu ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’ Milik Maneskin

The song “I Wanna Be Your Slave” by Maneskin portrays loyalty in romantic relationships in a complex and contradictory manner. This study aims to analyze the representation of loyalty in the song using Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic approach. The research employs a qualitative method with primary data derived from the song's lyrics. The analysis focuses on the relationship between the signifier and the signified in the lyrics. The findings reveal that the song conveys an unconventional form of loyalty, expressed through extreme role dynamics such as master and slave. This representation reflects an acceptance of both the dark and light sides of a relationship, depicting a more subjective and personal form of loyalty. This research contributes to the semiotic study of popular music and the meaning of romantic relationships.
