Abstract

Memiliki buah hati menjadi kebahagiaan bagi orang tua, namun disisi lain ada tanggung jawab untuk membesarkan anak dengan baik agar tidak mengalami hambatan dan tumbuh sesuai tahap perkembangannya. Untuk itu, orang tua perlu menerapkan parenting style yang efektif bagi anak-anaknya. Menerapkan parenting style yang efektif, perlu diiringi dengan kemampuan dalam meregulasi emosi. Ketika orang tua mengalami disregulasi emosi maka parenting style menjadi tidak efektif yang berakibat pada terhambatnya perkembangan emosional anak. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh disregulasi emosi orang tua terhadap parenting style yang diterapkan kepada anak-anaknya. Studi kuantitatif dilakukan untuk mengukur pengaruh disregulasi emosi terhadap parenting style orang tua di Jawa Barat. Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 92 orang tua yang memiliki minimal satu orang anak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji regresi sederhana pada disregulasi emosi terhadap parenting style dan hasil menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar <0,001 yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh disregulasi emosi terhadap parenting style orang tua.
