It is an established fact that adults are subject to a variety of challenges in life, which can often result in feelings of anxiety. The present study aims to conduct an in-depth examination of the use of play therapy for adults experiencing anxiety. The study's participants were adults between the ages of 20 and 100 years. The methodology employed was a literature review, with inclusion and exclusion criteria in place to ensure the rigour of the research. The findings of this study demonstrate the efficacy of play therapy in reducing anxiety in adults across cognitive, physiological, behavioural and affective domains. Consequently, it can be concluded that play therapy can be utilised to reduce anxiety in adults.
