PERKEMBANGAN TEORI LEADERSHIP DAN TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP DALAM PERSPEKTIF GENDER

Abstract

Leadership theory has been studied by many researchers and continuously develop until now. The development of leadership theory made it possible to put other elements as it’s dimension. A gender perspective is used to examine transformational leadership theory. This study focused to find out gender characteristics which represented in transformational leadership. The result of this studied using literature review method found that transformational leadership contains female value, so called by some researchers as feminism leadership style. The results show that the theory of leadership in a gender perspective raises a paradoxical reality. at the beginning of development of leadership theory, negative stereotype which become glass ceiling for women's career is found as characteristics of transformational leadership, which is widely held leadership style currently because of its effectiveness.
