A book can be categorized as a children's literature book if it meets certain aspects. According to Saxby's view, these aspects lie in the ability of imagery and metaphors of life that can be understood by children and involve various aspects of themselves. Some of the aspects of children involved in this process include emotions, feelings, thoughts, sensory nerves, and moral experiences. A children's story will be conveyed more effectively when presented together with illustrations. The case study taken in this research is the storybook titled Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. The narrative is analyzed by considering the suitability of genre and subgenre as well as the level of denotation and connotation meaning. Meanwhile, the illustrations are analyzed from the point of view of visual language theory (RWD & NPM) and the form of visual imagery. This research uses qualitative methods supported by various data sources. The final result of this research reveals that the storybook can be categorized as a children's literature book in the initiative versus error stage (3-6 years old), using a combination of RWD and NPM visual language with a literal visual style and metaphorical narrative style.
