Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the description and to find out how much the influence of job characteristics, interpersonal communication and employee performance. The method used in this research is descriptive and verification with a quantitative approach. The population used in this study were all employees at the Bandung City Social Service, totaling 73 respondents using probability sampling technique, saturated sample. Based on the results of the study that the state of job characteristics, interpersonal communication, and the state of employee performance is in the fairly low category. Based on the results of the coefficient of determination, job characteristics variable on employee performance is 22.1%, interpersonal communication variable on employee performance is 51.1%, job characteristics and interpersonal communication variables on employee performance is 55.9%. The partial results show that job characteristics have a positive and significant effect on employee performance with tcount 3.121 > ttable 1.994 with a sig value of 0.000 <0.05, and interpersonal communication has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with tcount 7.561 > ttable 1.994 with a sig value of 0.003 <0.05, and simultaneously job characteristics and interpersonal communication have a positive and significant effect on employee performance with fcount 46.571 > ftable 3.123 with a sig value of 0.000 < 0.05.
