Makna Kesetaraan Gender Dalam Revitalisasi Seni Penca Sobrah Sebagai Bentuk Perlawanan Terhadap Mitos Ketidakberdayaan Tubuh Perempuan Sunda
Abstract
This study aims to find out about the meaning of gender equality in the revitalization of penca Sobrah as a form of resistance to the myth of women's powerlessness. This study used qualitative research methods. The results showed that female martial artists experienced gender discrimination. After studying penca Sobrah, female martial artists can face doubts and have the strength to overcome various problems. They are also able to take care of themselves and realize that women with all the attributes of beauty and elegance have power and strength. In order to motives, female martial artists want to preserve Sundanese culture through the revitalization of the penca Sobrah which aims to build pride and respect for the identity of Sundanese women. In because motives, female martial artists want to fight against gender inequality that arises through the illusion of women's comfort zones so that they feel the need to prove themselves to the abilities that women have. Female martial artists interpret gender equality in the revitalization of the Sobrah arts as an effort to present their strong identity in the domestic sphere. The act of undoing the hair knots shows an attitude that stems from the independence and assertiveness of Sundanese women in protecting themselves and their families. Through penca Sobrah, Sundanese women reveal their strong identity in the domestic sphere. Sundanese women in the treasures of Sundanese mythology ultimately have power over themselves.
