Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes, bertujuan menganalisis representasi identitas, kekuasaan, dan ambivalensi dalam lagu “I Wanna Be Your Slave” karya Måneskin. Data penelitian berupa lirik lagu, dianalisis secara sistematis dengan membagi bait-baitnya menjadi tanda (signifier) dan makna yang diwakili (signified), kemudian ditafsirkan pada tiga tingkatan, denotatif, konotatif, dan mitos. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lagu ini menampilkan hubungan yang kompleks, di mana dominasi, penyerahan, dan permainan peran hadir secara bergantian. Lirik ini menekankan penerimaan sisi gelap dan terang dalam diri pasangan, menggambarkan kesetiaan yang subjektif dan personal. Pada level mitos, lagu membentuk narasi budaya pop modern bahwa identitas dan cinta bersifat fluid, ambivalen, dan performatif. Dengan demikian, “I Wanna Be Your Slave” merepresentasikan hubungan yang tidak hanya romantik, tetapi juga sarat simbolisasi kekuasaan, erotisisme, dan ekspresi diri yang bebas.
